"If ever I am faced with a doubter of the sort who questions the necessity of boys’ and youths’ clubs, I ask them why they should think it right to provide facilities for the social developments of those who go to college and university, and not for those starting at their working life in their teens. I’ve never been given a satisfactory answer." - Christopher J. Chataway ESQ

Can anyone put a name to the face?

On holiday in Tenerife this guy in the next apartment turned out to be an ex Old Boy from the 50's....

He is on some of the photos on the website, and has had practically no contact with anyone from the club since then. Can you name him? By the way I have his email address should you wish to contact him.

Hello World!

Hello! and welcome to our new site celebrating the Hyson Green Boys Club

Hyson Green Boys Club in Nottingham was first established in the dark days of 1939 at the outset of the Second World War which brought with it sharp realisation of the need to widen the provision for the leisure time and recreational interests of young people.

In 1962, as a result of slum clearance, the Club was moved to new premises on the current site built with a grant from the Ministry of Education.

This site is here as a reminder of those days and welcomes contributions and memories from any past members, otherwise known as the Hyson Green Old Boys.
